Lives and works in London, UK

My practice as a visual artist explores various themes and ideas dealing with identity, culture and background, bringing up questions of representation of the black body in a contemporary context. I work in a variety of media ranging from collage/mixed media, photography and digital/graphics as a means to translate my ideas. I am interested in ways in which the 'other' is perceived or portrayed in society and the impact that has on a wider view or understanding of difference. Through the process of engaging with the mediums being used I am able to come about a composition that communicates a narrative to the viewer. The narratives being explored are rooted in an understanding of the historical and social context of race in relation to the black body and the implications of it to present day.
